Ergonomic Trained Person - Initial Ergonomic Risk Assessment (ERA)

The Ergonomic Trained Person (ETP) – Initial Ergonomic Risk Assessment (ERA) program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to identify, assess, and document ergonomic risks at the workplace in accordance with the DOSH Guidelines on ERA at Workplace 2017.

This training emphasises both theoretical understanding and hands-on practice, enabling participants to prepare structured reports and propose control measures to reduce risks associated with Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs).

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, participants will be able to :

  1. Explain the purpose, objectives, scope, and application of the DOSH ERA Guidelines
  2. Identify ergonomic risk factors and their impact on musculoskeletal health.
  3. Conduct Initial ERA using self-assessment forms, complaint forms, CMQ, and DOSH ERA checklists.
  4. Propose suitable control measures based on the hierarchy of control.
  5. Prepare and submit a structured Initial ERA report for workplace documentation and compliance.
  6. To trained participants to become certified Ergonomic Trained Person (ETP)

ASSESSMENT METHOD

Written Test (30 marks)

1 hour exam covering key topics.

Workplace Assignment Report (70 marks)

Participants to prepare and submit a structured Initial ERA report within 14 days after course completion.

Passing Mark

60% minimum

COURSE EVALUATION

Participants’ performance will be measured through:
• Written Test – evaluates knowledge retention.
• Report Submission – evaluates ability to conduct ERA and prepare official documentation.
