What is the OEUK Medical Checkup?
Previously known as UKOOA (United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association), OEUK is a medical assessment standard for offshore oil & gas industry workers. Its purpose is to ensure that workers are medically fit before they are permitted to work on oil or gas platforms. The OEUK medical checkup includes:

✅ Lung function & breathing test (spirometry)
✅ Vision & hearing assessment

The OEUK certificate is valid for 2 years, depending on the individual’s health condition.
What is the OUEK Medical Checkup?
The OUEK medical checkup is a specialized health assessment for professional divers, particularly those involved in industrial diving tasks such as underwater structure maintenance, object recovery, and commercial diving operations.
The OUEK medical examination is more stringent as divers are exposed to risks such as barotrauma, decompression sickness, and nitrogen narcosis. Additional tests in the OUEK assessment include:
✅ More in-depth lung function tests
✅ Oxygen pressure test
✅ Ear & sinus health evaluation to ensure pressure stability while diving
✅ Balance test (vestibular test)
✅ ECG (Electrocardiogram) to assess heart health under high-pressure conditions
The OUEK certificate is typically valid for 1 year, and divers must renew it periodically to maintain their fitness to dive.
